The Vertaco canyon, located in the lower part of Les Écouges in the heart of the Vercors massif, offers a spectacular immersion in a limestone setting sculpted by the waters. The moss-covered rock faces and clear pools of water create a wild and refreshing setting, just a few minutes from Grenoble. The Écouges site, crossed on this outing, is historically recognised as one of the cradles of modern canyoning in Isère. The water here remains at an invigorating temperature, ideal for a summer adventure in the heart of nature.
Throughout your canyoning trip, you'll encounter a variety of natural obstacles. After a short walk, you'll follow impressive vertical abseils up to 25 metres high, as well as intense slides down sensational natural chutes shaped by the current. For the most daring participants, spectacular jumps into deep pools can reach heights of up to 8 metres. A zip line with a splash finish directly in the water is also installed when stream conditions allow, under the careful supervision of the Pep'S Nature team.
All the necessary technical equipment is provided by the instructor, including a two-piece 5mm neoprene wetsuit from premium brand Guara or Vaderetro, providing excellent thermal protection, as well as neoprene socks. Supervision is limited to a maximum of 8 participants per instructor, guaranteeing a friendly, human approach and a pace adapted to each individual. All the major obstacles, including jumps and abseils, can be adapted or bypassed if you feel apprehensive.
Book your canyoning trip to the Vertaco canyon now and get ready for a thrilling experience in the Vercors from Saint-Gervais!
