This PADI Open Water Diver course in Bora Bora consists of 6 dives organised over 3 or 4 days only! Bora Diving Center will send you a link for the online theory (to be done at your own pace).

Course of events
- Online theory training (approximately 4 to 5 hours to complete at your own pace before the practical training)
3-day course
Day 1: 1 afternoon dive (approx. 2 to 2.5-hour)
Day 2: 2 morning dives (approx. 4 to 4.5-hour) and 1 afternoon dive (approx. 2 to 2.5-hour)
Day 3: 2 morning dives (approx. 4 to 4.5-hour)
4-day course (recommended)
Day 1: 1 afternoon dive (approx. 2 to 2.5-hour)
Day 2: 2 morning dives (approx. 4 to 4.5-hour)
Day 3: 1 afternoon dive (approx. 2 to 2.5-hour)
Day 4: 2 morning dives (approx. 4 to 4.5-hour)
- Final online theory exam
Objectives
The Open Water Dive allows you to dive autonomously anywhere in the world to a depth of 18 metres (always with a buddy).
- Preparing, checking and using equipment
- Buoyancy control
- Sign communication
- Mask emptying
- Bleeding the pressure reducer
- Reaction to the air shortage and many others
Activity requirements
All participants must have recently completed a first dive.
All participants under the age of 18 must have parental authorisation.
Special terms
The 6 dives do not have to be organised on consecutive days. A personalised schedule can be drawn up according to your wishes and availability.
The first dive always takes place in a lagoon on a protected, shallow site. Subsequent dives may take place in the lagoon or on the outer reef. There may be slight variations depending on the weather, but usually 4 dives take place in the lagoon and 2 on the outer reef.
After your dive, you must wait at least 12 hours before boarding a local flight. You must wait at least 24 hours to board an international flight.
Contact lenses can be used for diving, but we recommend using daily disposable lenses for reasons of convenience and hygiene.
This activity is accessible to disabled people, depending on the type of disability. Please contact us before booking so that we can confirm your eligibility to take part.
