Spend a dream moment in Tahiti by going on a boat to look for whales at sunset!
French Polynesia is a perfect destination from August to November to observe humpback whales in their natural environment, in waters classified as a sanctuary for marine mammals since 2002. And what could be better than going out to sea at the end of the day to enjoy the spectacle of the sunset over Tahiti from the boat? You'll kill two birds with one stone by being able to see the whales and have an unforgettable boat trip in Tahiti!
Mobydick Diving raises anchor at the Pahiarepo Paea Marina to sail you out to the open sea between Paea and Mataiea, a little frequented area where you will have a great chance to see whales. During the search phase, which is of undetermined duration, as these cetaceans remain wild and unpredictable animals, you will have the opportunity to admire the splendid landscape of Tahiti during the famous "golden hour". The boat is also equipped with a hydrophone, a listening system that allows you to hear the song of male whales, which makes this sea trip even more unusual!
Once the whales are in sight, you will be able to observe them attentively from the boat, while keeping a safe distance from them. It will then be time to take out your cameras to immortalize this magical moment! Seeing whales in Tahiti at sunset will remain one of the most beautiful experiences of your trip in French Polynesia.
- Arrival at Pahiarepo marina and welcome directly on the Mobydick Tahiti boat
- Departure by boat to the little frequented area between Paea and the motus of Mataiea, with a briefing on humpback whales
- Search for whales, then observation once found (there is no guarantee to find whales during the trip)
- Return to Pahiarepo marina at 6.30 pm
Activity requirements
The excursion is held under the condition of having at least 6 people per boat.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant women because of the shocks at sea (ask your doctor for advice).
Special terms
The organizer may cancel the trip if the weather conditions are unfavorable, and the client will be offered other dates, or a refund if the trip cannot be rescheduled.
Encounters with whales are not 100% guaranteed: these animals remain wild and unpredictable.
