Practical information
- Please meet at the Moncanyon club’s headquarters in Saint-Claude, 10 minutes before the departure time.
- Welcome from your state-qualified guide, safety briefing and overview of the route.
- Full kit provided: neoprene wetsuit, helmet, harness, canyoning rucksack and waterproof container.
- Set off on foot towards the nearby entrance to the canyon.
- The walk begins in the Vauchelet Gorge, on the Rivière Noire.
- A series of abseils, natural slides and jumps (optional).
- A section involving an ejectable slide and a split abseil, under the supervision of the guide.
- A 3- to 4-hour walk through tropical and rocky scenery.
- Short breaks, depending on the group’s pace, to have a drink, recharge your batteries and enjoy the scenery.
- End of the route and walk back to the starting point.
- Dismantling, handover time and any retrieval of photographs.
- The session is expected to finish approximately 4 hours after you arrive.
Activity requirements
Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult.
You need to be in good physical condition to take part in this activity.
Participants must not have any medical contraindications to taking part in the activity.
You must be able to swim to take part in this activity.

You will evolve in a magnificent natural environment, in one of the most beautiful rivers of Guadeloupe in Basse Terre, the Black River Vauchelet, located a few minutes from the Bains Jaunes. The Vauchelet waterfalls, on the Black River, offer all the facets of the activity: jump, ejectable slide, abseiling, all the elements for a successful outing. More than a simple canyoning descent, your excursion with them will be a convivial moment in nature, a way to get to know the Black River better in a good mood!
