Northern Lights Dog Sledding Safari from Kirkenes

The Northern Lights are a mesmerizing natural spectacle, and Kirkenes, with its Arctic location in northeastern Norway, long winter nights, and minimal light pollution, provides an excellent opportunity to witness this breathtaking phenomenon. This dog sledding and Northern Lights safari offers an immersive and unforgettable experience in Norway's wild Arctic landscapes. 

Your adventure begins after being picked up from either the Thon or Scandic Hotels in Kirkenes (please specify when booking). You'll be driven to the departure point, where you and your group (a maximum of 10 participants) will put on your winter gear, including thermal overalls, boots, mittens, and a balaclava. After a safety briefing and an introduction to dog sledding from your experienced guides, you will meet the energetic and adorable huskies! 

Then, the fun starts! Your guides will drive the dog teams with 2 people sitting in each sled, so you can sit back and experience the thrill of riding through the nighttime winter landscapes and into the wilderness that surrounds Kirkenes. If you're lucky, you'll witness the vivid colours of the Aurora Borealis, far away from the city lights. Along your journey, you will stop to rest the huskies and will be treated to warm juice and a snack. In addition, your guide will share some fascinating stories before heading back to the Snowhotel. After saying goodbye to your four-legged friends, you'll be taken back to your hotel in Kirkenes with memories that will last a lifetime!
