This trip takes place from Tromsø in northern Norway. Tromsø is situated within the Arctic Circle, making it one of the northernmost cities in the world. Every year, humpbacks and orcas come to the Northern fjords of Norway to feed off Atlantic herring. This excursion will take us out to these spots to witness these beautiful marine mammals while they hunt for food.

Following international whale watching guidelines, this tour puts the utmost priority on protecting the wildlife. You will observe them from the boat without interfering with their habitat. The passionate and experienced crew on board will tell you all there is to know about these giants of the sea, while you get up close in the safest and most respectful way possible. The tour takes a maximum of 36 people in order to ensure the well-being of the whales, as well as to allow for a more enjoyable experience. 

The day begins by meeting your guides directly at the harbour for this 6-7 hour journey. On the way, hot drinks of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, biscuits, and a light soup lunch will be served to keep you warm and replenished. The journey to the feeding ground is approximately 2 hours long. Along the way, let yourself be dazzled by the views of the Norwegian fjords and mountains. 

Your guides will also try to spot other wildlife as you navigate the waters: common sightings include harbour porpoises, white-beaked dolphins, and birdlife such as seagulls, little Auks, and white-tailed eagles. The impressive biodiversity up in the Arctic waters is sure to keep you busy while you make your way to the main event. After witnessing the fascinating natural cycles of the wildlife, you will return to the starting point.
