Located in the heart of the Bélouve Forest in the commune of Saint-Benoît, the Takamaka Canyon is one of Reunion Island's most challenging canyons. With its high abseiling descents (70, 75 and 140 metres for the highest), jumps up to 10 metres high (all optional and height-adjustable), natural slides up to 16 metres long, sections with powerful water movements and technical walking sections, you need to be in very good physical condition and not be afraid of heights to take on the challenge! That's why Réunion Outdoor Activités is only offering this canyoning course at La Plaine-des-Palmistes to people who have already done canyoning with them, so they know whether or not you will be able to take part in this activity.
You will spend around 9 hours in the Takamaka Canyon, which is divided into 2 distinct sections: a vertical section comprising the descent of 2 large breaks (70 metres and 140 metres), followed by a more aquatic section with water jumps, natural slides and swimming. Throughout this adventure, you will be accompanied by 2 professional instructors who will help you to overcome each obstacle and ensure your safety at all times. With a small group of no more than 10 participants and the magnificent setting of the canyon, where you will also find the Mini Trou de Fer waterfall, you are sure to have a memorable experience in the Takamaka Canyon!
And if you are interested in canyoning in Reunion Island, but don't have the necessary prerequisites to take part in this excursion to the Takamaka Canyon, you should know that the Réunion Outdoor Activités team also offers other canyons on the island!
