About the activity

Curious to discover Réunion's rich underwater biodiversity? Then head south of Saint-Paul, to Saint-Gilles, where a sublime lagoon offers ideal conditions for a first dive in Réunion Island. Accessible to anyone comfortable in the water, without requiring any swimming skills, this activity is open to beginners and invites you to dive to a maximum depth of 6 metres, where the underwater fauna and flora are at their richest and the light still offers plenty of visibility (15 to 20 metres). Depending on sea and weather conditions, professional instructors will take you by boat to a dive site around Saint-Gilles so you can enjoy your first dive in complete safety.

From the port of Saint-Gilles, between the Roches Noires and Brisants beaches, you'll reach the diving site, where you'll have the chance to observe Réunion's rich marine biodiversity: clownfish, turtles, giant anemones, etc. You'll have a magical time discovering them during your first dive! Accessible from the age of 8, this first dive in Saint-Gilles allows you to stay underwater for a total of 25 minutes, with a state-certified instructor at your side to ensure your safety and guide you.

During the navigation and when the other divers make their first dive, you will be comfortably installed on board the boat, protected by an awning. A cool box with water and tea will be available while music plays in the background. All year round, you might even spot dolphins or turtles! Whales are present from July to October.

Réunion Diving is a small, family-run club where good humour and conviviality reign supreme. You'll find all the comforts you need: a bathroom with hot shower and toilet, and a kitchen equipped with a water point, fridge and microwave. On your return to the centre, you'll be given a baptism diploma and can enjoy a hot shower before continuing your day on the Island!

Superbe sortie en famille. Les plus jeunes comme les moins jeunes ont profité du sérieux et de la bonne humeur des moniteurs. Le matériel au top. Le fond de la mer magnifique. Et en plus avec une tortue.
