Abisko is renowned as one of the best places in the world for viewing the Northern Lights, otherwise known as the Aurora Borealis. Located in Northern Sweden, Abisko is situated in the Arctic Circle and is home to one of the nation's most beautiful nature preserves, the Abisko National Park. What better way to enjoy Sweden's beautiful autumnal landscapes than by embarking on an unforgettable Northern Lights journey?
Your adventure begins after being picked up from your accommodations in either Abisko or Björkliden (please specify when booking). You'll be greeted by your friendly and knowledgeable guide. Then, you and your group (a maximum of 8 participants) will set out into the wilderness for the best places to take in the spectacular Aurora Borealis!
One of many stops will be the scenic shoreline of Lake Torneträsk, followed by the incredible panoramic views of the mountains of Björkliden from the top of Bear Mountain, as well as a charming and remote fishing village. Throughout the tour, your guide will share fascinating stories about the Northern Lights and can even assist with nighttime Aurora photography tips. In addition, you'll be treated to a warm beverage as you witness the vivid colours of the Aurora Borealis. At the end of the excursion, you'll return to Abisko or Björkliden with memories that will last a lifetime!
