Activity requirements
Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before your departure time as indicated in the itinerary.
Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity. You should be able to walk from 3 to 4 kilometres in winter conditions.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Transfer from STF Abisko Touriststation is available upon request. Please get in touch with your instructor once your reservation is confirmed to set up a pick-up time.
Keep in mind that, if there is no snow on the ground on the day of your activity, the hike will still take place, only without snowshoes.

Then it's time to gear up with your snowshoes and poles, before learning a few snowshoeing techniques and safety recommendations to follow to have a great experience.
Once you're ready, it's time to go! You'll hike through the Abisko Valley, marvelling at the stunning landscapes of Swedish Lapland. Your instructor will teach you how to identify animal tracks and even search for the creatures themselves. Common sightings include moose, ptarmigan, hare, and reindeer. Halfway through the experience, you'll take a well-deserved break with a hot drink to warm you up and enjoy the scenic views, before returning to the original meeting point for the end of this wonderful snowshoe hike.
Now, a the beginning and the end of the season, the snow can be unpredictable, so if there is no snow on the ground on the day of your activity, they will still take you on this wonderful hike, only without snowshoes. Either way, keep in mind that the temperatures in the Arctic can range between 5 and -30 degrees Celsius, so you need to come prepared with high-quality winter gear.
