Once you're all geared up, you'll hop on a snowmobile-pulled sled and go! You'll be driven toward the Arctic, Swedish Lapland forest, where the reindeer dwell, and the sound of the snowmobile will attract them, so they'll approach to welcome you. You'll learn why feeding the reindeer is necessary during the winter and why it is a crucial responsibility for a herder, as well as how these creatures survive in the extreme weather of the region. Once you've fed the reindeer and spent time with them, you'll enjoy some warm lingonberry juice and cake before returning to the original starting point of the activity, returning the equipment, and driving back to Kiruna with fond memories of your wonderful day with the reindeer.

Keep in mind that the weather in Finnish Lapland is Arctic, so temperatures can range between 5 and -30 degrees Celsius. This means that, even though your instructor will lend you some winter clothing, you should come prepared with a first layer of wool or thermal clothing, then a middle layer of fleece or more wool, and an outer layer with a windproof and waterproof jacket and pants.
