Rhodes, the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is a destination where the sunlit Aegean meets a vibrant outdoor culture. Parasailing here is more than a sport; it is an invitation to experience the island’s legendary coastline from a new perspective. The medieval walls of Rhodes Town, the golden sands of Faliraki, and the rugged headlands of Anthony Quinn Bay create a dramatic backdrop for flight. The interplay of turquoise water, ancient ruins, and distant pine forests forms a landscape that is both timeless and exhilarating. Whether you are drawn by the promise of adventure or the serenity of the open sea, parasailing in Rhodes offers a rare combination of natural beauty and pure freedom.

Taking to the skies above Rhodes is an experience defined by contrasts. As the boat accelerates, the parachute lifts you gently from the deck, and suddenly the world below transforms. The salty breeze cools your skin, the rhythmic hum of the boat fades, and the island’s mosaic of whitewashed villages and olive groves unfolds beneath you. Routes typically follow the east coast, offering sweeping views over Lindos’s acropolis, the sheltered coves of Tsambika, and the lively beaches near Kallithea. Flights usually last between ten and fifteen minutes, balancing moments of quiet suspension with the thrill of ascent and descent. The sensation is both calming and invigorating, as you float high above the water, surrounded by the shifting colours of sea and sky.

Local guides in Rhodes are passionate professionals, deeply familiar with the island’s winds and waters. All instructors are fully licensed and trained to international safety standards, providing thorough briefings and top-quality equipment, including harnesses, life jackets, and modern parasails. The gear is meticulously maintained, and every flight is monitored from start to finish. Accessibility is a priority: while no prior experience is needed, participants should be comfortable in the water and in good physical health. The outdoor culture here is welcoming, with guides sharing insights into local history and marine life, ensuring every guest feels secure and inspired.

Parasailing in Rhodes is best enjoyed from late spring through early autumn, when the weather is warm, the sea calm, and visibility at its peak. The activity is suitable for beginners, families, couples, and groups, as well as more experienced thrill-seekers. While the technical demands are minimal, a reasonable level of fitness is recommended to ensure comfort during take-off and landing. Children can often participate, depending on age and weight, making it an inclusive adventure for a wide range of travellers.

We tend to do this kind of activity in most countries we visit that offer it, but can honestly say this is one of the best we have done.

From start to finish the kayaking experience was so much fun. The boats were safe and easier to use, plenty of instructions provided before so I didn’t feel unsafe at any moment. The secluded beaches are gorgeous and we had plenty of time to swim and relax at each one. Lots of history and geography provided about certain places and formations. Wild goats would come down on the beach and if you’re careful and patient you may be able to feed them (they’re herbivores so only veg and fruit). Thank you to the instructor and team for an incredible experience.
