Vertikarst

Vertikarst is a local guide office founded in 2007 in Auzat, at the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees. With over 18 years of operation and a combined 30 years of experience in outdoor sports, the team specialises in professional instruction for caving, canyoning, and rock climbing. You explore the subterranean galleries and canyons of the Auzat-Vicdessos valley or the cliffs of Orlu within small groups limited to a maximum of 10 participants. Activities are tailored to individual physical abilities, ranging from discovery initiations to advanced multi-pitch climbing sessions. Vertikarst provides all necessary technical equipment meeting PPE standards, including harnesses, helmets, neoprene wetsuits, boots, and gloves. Committed to eco-friendly practices, the structure uses non-toxic cleaning products and encourages carpooling. Guidance is provided by state-certified instructors holding diplomas in caving, canyoning, and climbing. The organisation holds the Valeurs Parc Naturel Régional label and is a member of the National Union of Caving and Canyon Professionals.
