Practical information
An afternoon trip for one exploratory dive in Bora Bora.
- Marine life spotting (including sharks, manta rays, eagle rays, etc.)
- A maximum of 5 divers per instructor
- Depth ranging from 12 to 20 metres, depending on the dive level
Course of events
- Pick-up from your accommodation in Bora Bora by bus or boat (provided the jetty is accessible to the boat)
- Boat trip to the dive site (15 to 30 minutes)
- Briefing on the course of the activity and safety instructions, followed by the issue of equipment
- Dive lasting 45 to 60 minutes (maximum of 5 divers per guide)
- Return to the boat, wash off (shower on board) and return to your accommodation
Activity requirements
A minimum of a Level 1 / Open Water / PE12 diving qualification is required to take part in this activity.
Parental consent is required for minors taking part in the activity without an accompanying adult.
Special terms
This activity is not suitable for pregnant women.
If you would like to arrange a pick-up, please check that your hotel (on the main island of Bora Bora or on the motus) has a jetty AND contact Bora Ocean Adventures once your booking has been confirmed to arrange the pick-up.
If you would like to take part in the activity as an accompanying person on board the boat, without diving, please contact the centre directly to see if this is possible (priority is given to divers). If so, the cost is 7,000 XPF, payable directly on site.

Leaving Bora Bora without taking the plunge on an exploration dive is impossible if you are a certified Level 1 / Open Water / PE12 diver. Renowned all over the world for its magnificent lagoon, home to sublime flora and fauna, this small island in French Polynesia is overflowing with underwater treasures! And to discover them, there is nothing like an exploration dive in Bora Bora, in the lagoon or on the ocean side, depending on your level of diving and the weather, but also on what you want to see.
This amazing adventure will take place in the afternoon, alongside a dive master (1 dive master for a maximum of 4 divers) who will guide you for an immersion of 45 to 60 minutes, at a maximum depth of 15 to 40 metres (depending on the dive site). You will have the chance to see a large number of tropical fish, as well as turtles, manta rays, eagle rays, Napoleon fish, lemon sharks, etc., depending on the dive site. Your exploration dive in Bora Bora is sure to be a memorable experience, full of discoveries!
