Embark on a wonderful adventure in the breathtaking landscapes of Finnish Lapland on this evening snowshoe trek from Ivalo! In the beautiful municipality of Inari, in the northeastern region of Finnish Lapland, Ivalo is a small village, away from light pollution. This makes it the best place for experiencing several different winter activities in its snow-covered forests and frozen lakes.
On the day of your snowshoe excursion from Ivalo, you'll need to arrive at the meeting point in the Xwander Nordic headquarters. You can also hire your instructor's transportation service from Inari, Nellim, Kakslauttanen, Kiilopää and Saariselkä, for 20 euros per person. Once you get there, your instructor will distribute the thermal overalls, boots, mittens, and headlamp they lend you to keep warm during the experience. Then, it's time to head to the starting point of the experience.
Your instructor will distribute the snowshoes and teach you exactly how to use them to stay safe and have the best time out in the snow. You'll walk through a snow-covered forest and might even see signs of willow grouse digging into the snow or reindeer grazing in the untouched, peaceful ground. Since you'll be away from most light pollution and, if they appear in the sky, you'll be able to observe the Northern Lights in all their glory.
Keep in mind that the temperature in the Arctic can range between 5 and -30 degrees Celsius. If the temperature drops below -25 degrees Celsius, your instructor will reschedule or cancel the activity. If not, you'll need to be prepared for the cold temperatures with wool or thermal under layers, fleece or more wool middle layers, and windproof and waterproof outerwear to protect you. You should also bring a hat, scarf, snow boots, gloves, and anything else you might need (medicine, extra snacks, water, etc.) to spend around 3 hours on this evening snowshoeing excursion from Ivalo.
Don't miss out on an invigorating, fun, and peaceful experience in the snowy, frozen landscapes of Finnish Lapland. Book your evening snowshoe trek from Ivalo today!
