Course of events
You should plan to spend around 4.5 hours on this activity:
- Arrival at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the start of the experience
- Introduction to your instructor
- Winter gear distribution (if necessary)
- 10-minute Drive to the starting point of the experience
- Safety and activity briefing
- Depending on the group's age, size, and the weather conditions, you'll be able to participate in:

Activity requirements
Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before your departure time as indicated in the itinerary.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
A moderate level of physical condition is necessary to participate in this activity.
Special terms
Your instructor offers a transportation service to the meeting point from Ivalo, for 10€ per person, and from Inari, Nellim, Kakslauttanen, Kiilopää and Saariselkä for 20€ per person. If you are interested in booking it, please get in touch with your instructor once your reservation is confirmed to agree on a meeting time and place.
Please note that the activities available at the camp are weather-dependent. Your instructor will also take into account the age of all the participants and your group size to tailor the activity for each group. Each experience might be different, since a 4-year-old will not be able to participate in the exact same activities as a 14-year-old.
Since wildlife is unpredictable, their presence is never guaranteed.
If the weather is expected to be below -25 degrees Celsius on the programmed date and time of your adventure, your instructor will reschedule or cancel the experience.
Thermal suits, boots, and mittens are available to participants on-site, but you should still come prepared with sturdy winter clothing.

Located in the beautiful municipality of Inari, in the northeastern region of Finnish Lapland, Ivalo is a picturesque small village surrounded by incredible Arctic wilderness. With heavily snowy winters and a vast, untouched territory, this amazing place is perfect for experiencing everything that winter has to offer in full safety.
On the day of your winter activity camp from Ivalo, you'll need to arrive at the meeting point in the Xwander Nordic headquarters. You can also hire your instructor's transportation service from Ivalo for 10 euros per person, or from Inari, Nellim, Kakslauttanen, Kiilopää and Saariselkä, for 20 euros per person. Once you get there, your instructor will distribute the thermal overalls, boots, mittens, and headlamp they lend you to keep warm during the experience. Then, it's time to head to the camp, only 10 minutes away from the village!
Upon arrival, your instructor will adapt and organise a few activities for you to take part in. Depending on the weather conditions of the day, the age of the participants, and the size of the group, your experience might be completely different from anyone else's! Some of the activities available include tobogganing, fire making out in the snow, snowshoeing, winter survival skills training, kicksledding, snowman building, snowball target practice, and more. Throughout the experience, you'll also get to try some delicious fish and fish soup, as well as hot chocolate, marshmallows, and other snacks to keep you warm.
Keep in mind that the temperature in the Arctic can range between 5 and -30 degrees Celsius. If the temperature drops below -25 degrees Celsius, your instructor will reschedule or cancel the activity. If not, you'll need to be prepared for the cold temperatures with wool or thermal under layers, fleece or more wool middle layers, and windproof and waterproof outerwear to protect you. You should also bring a hat, scarf, snow boots, gloves, and anything else you might need (medicine, extra snacks, water, etc.) to spend around 4 hours on this winter activity camp from Ivalo.
