Drive a snowmobile across the Lappish woodland to the frozen lakes and try ice fishing with a traditional BBQ from Rovaniemi. Welcoming adventurers of all ages on this family-friendly excursion!
This tour takes place from Rovaniemi, a city based in Finnish Lapland. This area is a popular destination for outdoor sports and nature enthusiasts. Due to its proximity to the Arctic Circle, the region also features snowy conditions in the winter, creating stunning natural scenery. This half-day excursion combines the best Arctic activities - snowmobiling and ice fishing, for maximum sensation.
You will start by meeting your experienced guide at the camp in Rovaniemi (pickups are available within a 15km driving distance). They will start with a short safety briefing and a snowmobile driving lesson. Snowmobiles will be driven in pairs (twin riding), with a driver and a passenger on each snowmobile, and the opportunity to switch during the ride. Smaller children will sit in a sled and be pulled by the guide's snowmobile. Once you are all set up, the adventure begins!
Led by the guide, you will weave through the dense forest on your snowmobile to reach the frozen lakes. The vast snowy forest trails have minimal tree coverage, creating an optimal location for snowmobiling. The whole family will enjoy this exhilarating excursion. When you arrive at the lake, your expert guide will assist you in drilling a hole through the thick ice and setting up your ice fishing equipment. Drop your line into the ice hole, sit back, and try your luck at fishing! If manage to catch a fish, the guide will help you prepare it for lunch.
After some time has passed, a delicious traditional barbeque lunch of Lappish bread, salmon, marshmallows and hot blueberry juice (vegetarian/vegan alternative available upon request) will be served around an open fire. Warm up while you enjoy these Lappish specialities. As you take in the view and peaceful scenery, your guide will share stories about life in the region. After you have finished, you will snowmobile back through the forest and return to Rovaniemi.

Activity requirements
Snowmobile drivers must hold a full, valid driver's licence (original or electronic copy).
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by adults paying the full price.
Children under 12 years old will be seated in the sled pulled by the snowmobile driven by the guide.
If the child is taller than 150 cm (4'9"), they can be seated on the snowmobile paying the adult's price.
Special terms
At least 2 people are required for this tour to take place on weekdays and Saturdays.
At least 4 people are required for this tour to take place on Sundays and public holidays.
