Experience your first deep freediving session in the Hossegor canal, starting from the shore in shallow water – perfect for beginners!
- Initiation in small groups of up to 4 people, in complete safety
- Support on a case-by-case basis according to need
- Safe environment (shallow water)
- 1 breathing session + 1 freediving session on a cable (max. depth: 10 metres)
Course of events
Please allow a total of 3 hours on site for this activity.
- The meeting point can be reached by car, on foot or by bike. Free parking is available in Hossegor.
- Welcome & check-in (≈ 10 min): identity check and initial explanations.
- Introduction to the basics of freediving breathing and compensation + safety briefing ( ≈ 15 min).
- Apnea-specific stretching and breathing session (≈ 45 min)
- Equipment (≈ 20 min): distribution of equipment, adjustments, safety rules.
- Walk (≈ 2 min) then launch 20 metres from the meeting point.
- Course of the main activity (≈ 75 min): launch with freediving buoys, weighted cable, immersion of participants one by one, along the cable, accompanied by the freediving instructor on their descent who gives them all the necessary explanations and adaptations at the surface.
- Optional return to the club and end of the activity (≈ 30 min, if applicable): rinse and return equipment, shower, debriefing, sharing time, end of the experience.

Activity requirements
You need to be able to swim at least 50m to take part in this activity.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult or present a written parental authorisation to take part in this activity.
A minimum of 2 participants is required for the activity to take place.
Special terms
This activity is not recommended for pregnant women or people with ENT or cardiopulmonary problems.
Please note that the timetable for this activity changes daily depending on the tides.
All basic freediving equipment is provided (wetsuit, fins, mask, snorkel, belt, weights). However, you can bring your own equipment if you have it.

Upon arrival, your instructor will welcome you and explain the basics of breath-hold diving and equalisation. The session begins with stretching and breathing exercises specifically designed for freediving. Once prepared, you’ll put on a wetsuit, mask, and fins before entering the water.
