Take part in a PADI Open Water course in Santorini and become a professional scuba diver!

Santorini is a beautiful island located in the southern Aegean Sea, part of the Cyclades group of islands in Greece. It is renowned for its stunning sunsets, sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters. This course takes place in Akrotiri, an archaeological site in Santorini.

To start your course, you'll meet the certified instructor at the dive centre in Akrotiri. The PADI Open Water Diver certificate is the first level of all the internationally recognised diving certificates. No experience is needed to take part in this course. During your course, you will combine the theory of scuba diving with practice. It takes 4 days to complete, and at the end of the course, you will get your certificate allowing you to dive anywhere in the world at a maximum depth of 18 metres / 59 feet.

Before starting the dives you will cover subjects like diving physics, physiology, medicine, environment, and dive safety. You can complete the e-course from the comfort of your home and then get ready for some action in the dive centre. You'll receive the scuba diving equipment (fins, mask, wetsuit, regulators, tank and weights) and learn about its use.

Over the 4 days, you will complete 4 open water dives in the Greek sea with your instructor. You'll start from Caldera Beach in Akrotiri, a small and beautiful beach close to many unique dive spots, with an amazing view of the whole island and the Volcano. You will learn how to use your scuba gear, buoyancy techniques, how to dive from a boat and navigation.

When you dive, you'll explore underwater cliffs, caves, and rock formations created by volcanic activity. The clear waters of the Aegean Sea offer excellent visibility, allowing divers to encounter a diverse array of marine life, including colourful fish, octopuses, sea turtles, and sometimes even dolphins. On the last day, you will perform what you have learnt for the instructor. At the end of the course, you will receive your Open Water Diver certification, qualifying you to dive anywhere in the world!

Take the first step in your scuba diving certification with this PADI Open Water course in Santorini!

Me and my girlfriend did our Open Water Diver certification in the Santorini Dive Centre and loved every minute. The course is taught well and you learn a lot. The days fly by, with two dives each day in the beautiful caldera. You learn about your equipment, how to use it, how to set it up, how to put it on, and how to check it. You then learn how to handle a variety of problems in the water such as water in your mask, your regulator falling out of your mouth, running out of air, how to remove your gear and put it back on under water etc. Lastly you are taken out over a reef and down to 18m for your final dive Amazing sights and a great experience.
