About the activity

On the day of your ATV excursion from Kviby, you'll have the chance to be picked up by your Finnmark Adventure instructor at the Scandic Hotel or the Cruise Harbour in Alta. Your instructor will take you on a scenic drive towards Kviby and to the place where they keep the ATVs. Once you arrive, they will distribute the warm suits, helmets, and mittens before heading out to the ATVs to teach you exactly how to use them.

Once you're all geared up and ready, it's time to go! You'll ride along the dramatic coastline of northern Norway, searching for the perfect place to observe the Northern Lights. You'll make different stops in strategic places, and your instructor will tell you all they can about the region's culture and nature. Now, keep in mind that the Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon that can't be controlled, so even if your instructors take you to usual sighting spots, it is possible that you won't be able to see it.

Keep in mind that this wonderful 5-hour Northern Lights ATV excursion around Kviby will take place during the Nordic winter, when Arctic temperatures can be as low as -30 degrees Celsius. You should come prepared with good winter gear to keep you safe and warm throughout the experience. Wool or thermal under layers and wind and waterproof outerwear are recommended, as well as waterproof gloves, a scarf, a hat, and anything else you might need (extra layers, medication, etc.) to spend a safe and fun moment out in the Norwegian landscapes.
