Experience the freedom and beauty of the Finnmarksvidda mountain plateau in Alta on this exhilarating snowmobile safari. Welcoming adventurers from ages 18 and up!
Alta is located in Norway, in the northern area known as Finnmark and is situated above the Arctic Circle. The natural beauty of the area, with its fjords, mountains, and coastal landscapes, attracts many outdoor enthusiasts. This activity will take place at Finnmarksvidda, the Finnmark Plateau, a vast, high-altitude plateau located in the region. This thrilling snowmobile adventure is a great way to experience the vast wilderness of Norway!
The tour will begin at one of the listed pick-up locations. Your experienced guide will collect you and your group (a maximum of 10 participants) in a minivan. You will be driven to the starting location in Alta City to be provided with warm outdoor clothing and all of the required gear for snowmobiling. In addition, participants can also leave any personal belongings in the office for safekeeping. Then, your guide will provide a safety and itinerary briefing.
Next, you will depart for the 30-minute drive to the snowmobile parking location at the Finnsmarksvidda mountain plateau. Upon arrival, your guide will give an introduction to snowmobiling and snowmobile driving techniques. Once everyone feels comfortable and ready to set off, the adventure begins! Finnmarksvidda is characterised by expansive treeless terrains, with numerous lakes and rivers dotted along. As one of the largest plateaus in Europe, being on this mountainous expanse is often compared to reaching the edge of the world. Driving through this area is a fun and exciting way to be in direct contact with the Arctic nature.
Throughout the tour, there will be some opportunities to stop and take photos of the majestic landscape. Midway through the excursion, you'll be treated to hot drinks and snacks, the perfect way to warm up! After immersing yourself in the beautiful Alta region on this enjoyable snowmobile excursion, you will return to the starting point and be driven back to your original pick-up location.

Activity requirements
Please note that snowmobile drivers must hold a regular valid driver's license for cars or motorcycles. Please bring the physical copy with you on the day of the activity.
A minimum of 2 participants is required for this activity to take place. If the number of participants is not met, you will be offered a refund or the chance to reschedule.
In addition, the maximum weight for passengers is 75kg / 165 lbs.

Single-driver option: One person per snowmobile
Shared snowmobile option: Driving in pairs (one driver and one passenger per snowmobile), with the opportunity to switch places during the tour.
