Your adventure takes place at Gargia Lodge, on the edge of the vast Finnmark Plateau outside Alta. Away from the lights and noise of the city, the surrounding forest offers a peaceful setting for an evening in the Arctic wilderness. Snow-covered pine trees, animal tracks and open winter landscapes create a magical atmosphere as you explore the forest after dark.

After you've met your guide, you will receive your snowshoes and poles before setting out on your adventure. Follow your guide along an easy trail through the winter wilderness, discovering the forest after dark and learning about the Arctic environment, wildlife, and local traditions connected to the Northern Lights. Halfway through the hike, you will stop at a sheltered spot in the forest to gather around a warm bonfire. Enjoy a hot drink and a local snack while taking in the peaceful surroundings and keeping your eyes on the sky. With the forest away from urban light pollution, the setting offers a memorable opportunity to look for the Northern Lights!

After you've recharged, you will continue the hike through the peaceful forest before returning to Gargia Lodge. You will then travel back to Alta, bringing your Northern Lights snowshoe adventure to an end.
