Bodø is a city situated in Norway, just north of the Arctic Circle, making it one of the northernmost cities in the world. The city is known for its stunning natural beauty, with rugged landscapes, dramatic mountains, and the sea surrounding it. On this bike trip, you’ll discover the region’s beautiful wilderness!
The bike adventure begins at the starting point in Bodø city centre, where you’ll meet the experienced guide. They will provide all of the equipment, including a high-quality mountain electric bike, a helmet, gloves, and a backpack containing a 0.5l bottle of water. After a quick safety briefing, you’ll set off riding from the city towards Keiservarden Mountain.
Keiservarden is a mountain near Bodø that stands at an elevation of about 366 metres (1,201 feet) above sea level. It's relatively accessible, with well-marked trails leading to the summit. You’ll start the trip by passing through the residential areas of Rønvik and Maskinisten, before beginning the uphill climb. You’ll cycle up trails and gravel roads for 360m (1,181ft) until you reach the summit of Keiservarden. The electric bike will help make the ascent easier!
On the way up, you’ll stop for breaks as necessary before you reach the summit. If you're lucky, you may encounter some local moose on the journey! Then, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking 360-degree view of the coastal landscapes, the Norwegian Sea, and the surrounding mountains. The sweeping view stretches from Sweden to Lofoten.
You’ll break to admire the panoramic vistas and enjoy some snacks and a hot coffee. Then, you’ll begin the exhilarating downhill ride. The guide can organise a small challenge with a cycle on an off-road trail for those who are seeking more adventure! The tour will end back at the starting point in Bodø.
