Join a unique electric mountain bike tour to Keiservarden Mountain from Bodø and witness the incredible midnight sun phenomenon! Welcoming adventurers from ages 15 and up.
Bodø is a city situated in Northern Norway, close to the Arctic Circle. The region is renowned for its natural beauty, with rugged mountains, forest trails, and the surrounding sea. Due to its location in the north, Bodø also experiences the midnight sun phenomenon during the summer months.
The e-bike tour begins at the starting point in the city centre of Bodø. You will meet the experienced guide and receive the full equipment, including an electric full-suspension mountain bike, a helmet, gloves, and a backpack containing a 0.5-l bottle of water. After a safety briefing, you’ll begin cycling away from the city and into the untouched nature.
The trip starts by passing through the residential areas of Rønvik and Maskinisten, before you begin the steady uphill climb towards Keiservarden, a prominent mountain located near Bodø. You’ll travel up gravel roads, stopping for breaks along the way, until you reach the summit at 360 metres (1,181 feet).
Keiservarden offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including the city of Bodø, the Vestfjorden, and the Lofoten Islands in the distance. Once at the summit, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the coastal landscapes, the Norwegian Sea, and the surrounding mountains.
As you break at the top, you’ll have a front-row seat to the magical midnight sun to the north. At around midnight, the mesmerizing sun will just touch the edge of the horizon, before beginning to rise again. Admire this breathtaking view as you enjoy some snacks and hot coffee. Then, you’ll begin the thrilling downhill ride, travelling along narrow forest paths. The trip will end back at the starting point in Bodø.
