Svalbard is one of the wildest islands on the planet, with more polar bears than there are humans. Besides its rich Arctic wildlife, fantastic snow landscapes, and ancient glaciers, it's also known for the incredible phenomenon of the Midnight Sun. Between the summer months from April to July, the sun doesn't go down, leaving you with 24 hour-long days of gorgeous white sunshine.

During this exciting snowmobile trip, you will witness the surreal Midnight Sun from various spots out in the wild. Driving in the middle of the night, in broad daylight, will be a very special experience.

The tour will start in Longyearbyen and will lead you through the glistering, snow-covered landscape of Spitsbergen and its surroundings. In the total silence of Svalbard's dazzling ice meadows, you will take a break and enjoy a hot drink, giving you a break to take in the impressive solitude of this untouched region of the world.

This is an 'open destination' trip, meaning that your expert guides for this trip will decide on the perfect route for the day. This enables us to make sure you get the best experience of the Arctic and can fully enjoy the unique rays of the Midnight Sun.

Activity requirements

It is recommended by the guide of this activity to wear a base layer in 100% wool, a mid-layer in wool, down or fleece and thick woollen socks. It is possible to bring a small backpack.

A physical valid driver’s license is compulsory.

The minimum required age for drivers is 18. The minimum required age for passengers is 12.

Special terms

You can choose to purchase an optional snowmobile insurance policy for NOK 200 from the guide of this activity. With this option, you will be insured in any case of accident. If you wish to share a snowmobile as a driver and passenger, then you only need the insurance for one person.

This guide has 6 snowmobiles available. In case you are booking as a group, please be aware that there can be only 6 drivers. Each snowmobile can fit the driver and passenger. The driver and passenger can switch through during the activity.
