Course of events
You should plan to spend around 5 hours on this activity:

- 50-minute scenic drive to the wilderness camp in camp in Breivikeidet
- Welcome from your instructor
- Winter equipment distribution
- Safety briefing and introduction to dog sledding
- Meet the Huskies!
- Start of your approximately 65-minute dog sledding excursion near the Lyngen Alps
- Midway through the tour, switch places with your passenger so they can take a turn driving
- Return to the camp
- Say goodbye to the huskies
- Warm drinks and cake in a lávvu (indigenous Sámi tent)
- Equipment return
- Transfer back to Tromsø
- Drop-off at the original meeting point and end of the activity
Activity requirements
Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before your departure time, as indicated in the itinerary.
Please be advised that all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All guests must be in a decent physical condition in order to participate. Drivers will need to be able to move around on the sled, and help the dogs pull the sled for more than half an hour.

Please be advised that in case of lack of snow, the tours are conducted on wheeled wagons.

Your dog sledding adventure near the Lyngen Alps begins with a pick-up in Tromsø's city centre, where you will embark on a 50-minute scenic drive to the husky camp in Breivikeidet. Breathtaking views await! Once you've made your way to the camp, situated in a picturesque valley, you will follow an introduction with mushing (dog sledding) techniques and receive some polar insulated suits, boots, hats and mittens, before heading out in the wild.
Then, it is time to take the lead and mush through the snowy landscapes of the Arctic, overlooking the incredible surroundings of Breivikeidet and Tromsø! Two people will share each sled, one as a driver and the other as a passenger. Midway through the excursion, you will swap places. Prepare to experience the life of a dog musher while driving on the open fields and inside the forest trails of the Nordic nature.
After the ride, you will make your way back to the camp for a campfire break in a lávvu (traditional Sámi tent) to rest the dogs and relax. Here, you will enjoy a delicious homemade cake with a hot drink to warm you up. Once you've recharged, it is time to say goodbye to the huskies, and hop on the bus for the ride back to Tromsø.
