Course of events
Veuillez allow 4 hours for this experience.
- Pick-up at your designated location in Kiruna (please see special terms)
- Drive up to 40 minutes into the countryside toward optimal locations with open skies and minimal cloud cover
- Fitting of headlamps and briefing on camera gear, tripod operation, and night photography settings for the Aurora
- Outdoor photography session while learning about Sami culture, Arctic nature, and night photography techniques
- Capture photos of the Northern Lights under the step-by-step guidance of native Sami photo guides
- Return drive to Kiruna and drop-off at your original pick-up location
Activity requirements
A minimum number of 2 participants is required to run this activity.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the departure time.
A birth certificate may be requested for child participants.
Special terms
Since the Northern Lights are an unpredictable natural phenomenon, their presence is never guaranteed.
Once your booking has been confirmed, please contact the instructor directly to organise the meeting point and pick-up time.
Pick-up locations (to specify upon booking): Icehotel, Kiruna tourist office, Elite Hotel Frost, Camp Ripan.
Please inform the instructor when booking if you have any allergies, as reindeer skins and live dogs can be present in vehicles or on location.
Camera equipment is provided for adult participants only; children aged 10–15 are provided with a tripod for their own camera or mobile phone.
Participants borrowing camera equipment are responsible for keeping it safe and will incur repair or replacement fees for damaged or lost cameras, plates, headlamps, or lens caps.
The operator records photos during guided tours and reserves the right to publish images on websites and social media unless explicitly requested otherwise.
SD memory cards are not included with borrowed cameras but may be purchased directly from the guide on site.
