Scandinavian Sami Photo Adventures

Scandinavian Sami Photoadventures is a family-owned company founded in 2014 in Kiruna, representing over 12 years of activity in the Kebnekaise and Abisko regions of Lapland. Built upon a Sámi guiding heritage dating back to the early 1900s, the structure offers nature photography tours, wildlife observation, and cultural experiences led by indigenous local guides. Outings cover year-round Arctic phenomena, including Northern Lights excursions in winter and Midnight Sun activities in summer, alongside educational insights into traditional Sámi life, reindeer herding, hunting, and handicraft making. Co-founded by Anette Niia and Ylva Sarri, the team combines the historical mountain guiding tradition of the Sarri family with the photographic expertise of the Niia family. Their lineage of local guides has accompanied researchers, photographers, and adventurers across northern mountain areas for generations, ensuring deep regional knowledge and safety briefings before every departure.
