This tour takes place in Swedish Lapland near Kiruna, the northernmost city in Sweden. This area is located right within the Arctic Circle, and has typical features such as pine forests, snow-covered terrains and diverse landscapes. Snowmobiling in Kiruna is a great activity to discover the unique wilderness off the beaten track!

For this tour, you can be picked up from your accommodation in Kiruna City or nearby (please specify when booking), or meet at the starting point in Kiruna. Your experienced guide will greet you and show you all the safety instructions of how to drive a snowmobile. Modern four-stroke engine snowmobiles are used which are comfortable and easy to drive. You can choose to drive in pairs (one driver and one passenger with the chance to switch) or as a solo driver.

When you have all of your equipment and Arctic gear, you will set off into the deep forests surrounding Kiruna. During the snowmobiling trip in Kiruna, you will pass by the Torne River, which forms a natural border between Sweden and Finland. This is a stunningly beautiful area where you will have the opportunity to see distinct nature and wildlife. Passing over the snowy terrain, you will soon arrive at the wilderness camp on the Väkkäräjärvi Lake.

Here, you will stop for a break in a wooden cabin around a fire. Delicious sandwiches and snacks with hot coffee or tea will be served as you take in the peaceful surroundings. The guide will happily share insights about the history of this region and the typical lifestyle of the locals. After resting, you will return to the starting point in Kiruna and head back to your accommodation.

This is a fun, intimate outing to discover the nature of Swedish Lapland while learning how to drive your own snowmobile from Kiruna!

For me and my partner was the first time to drive a snowmobile and we loved it! We were picked up from our hotel in Kiruna and provided with warm clothes (overall, gloves, helmet, boots) and had the best 3 hours of our lives. We were also able to bring our backpack with my camera and take some nice shots in the wilderness. The snowmobile was quite easy to drive and we took turns on driving. If you are adventurous then I strongly recommend to drive your own snowmobile for a full experience! We would definitely be back in Kiruna and this time will choose individual snowmobile experience.

This is an A+ experience. So much clothing to stay warm and heated handle bars and seats, gliding across frozen lakes and into forests at 2pm in the dark. A great family adventure that will not be forgotten.
