Quebec City stands as a gateway to some of Canada’s most captivating hiking landscapes, where centuries-old forests, dramatic river valleys, and rugged cliffs converge in a region steeped in both natural beauty and cultural vibrancy. Nestled along the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the city is surrounded by a mosaic of protected parks and wild spaces, from the misty cascades of Montmorency Falls to the rolling hills of the Laurentians. Here, hiking is more than a pastime—it is a way to connect with the living heritage of Quebec, where every trail reveals a new perspective on the region’s rich history, shifting seasons, and the interplay of light and shadow across ancient rock and verdant woodland.

Setting out on a hike near Quebec City, you are immediately immersed in a world where the air is tinged with the scent of pine and maple, and the sounds of rushing water mingle with birdsong. Trails wind through diverse terrain, from the gentle riverside paths of Parc de la Chute-Montmorency to the more challenging ascents in Jacques-Cartier National Park, where glacial valleys and granite outcrops offer panoramic views over dense boreal forest. Hikes can range from short, family-friendly walks to full-day treks that test endurance and reward with sweeping vistas and moments of quiet reflection. The changing seasons bring their own palette: autumn cloaks the hills in fiery reds and golds, while spring and summer fill the air with the freshness of new growth and the cool touch of river breezes. Whether you seek solitude among mossy stones or the exhilaration of a summit, the contrasts of Quebec’s hiking trails invite exploration at every turn.

The staff was great and made the adventure even better. I think it was because of them that it was so much fun.
The activity is great! You raft on a gentle river and have swimming activities. It's not one of those scary rafting experiences. It's perfect for families or people looking for a smooth ride down the river.

Amazing and informative!!! Shoutouts to Aurelie, who provided a wonderful experience. She was patient and explained everything if we had questions, also had a great sense of humor. The fact that she did it in both French and English was even more commendable.
