Once you've been picked up at one of the listed meeting points (please specify when booking), the adventure begins! You'll be driven to the Kilpissafarit base where you'll be welcomed by your knowledgeable instructor. After you've put on your winter gear (thermal overalls, boots, wool socks, mittens, and a balaclava), you'll receive a safety briefing and an introduction to snowmobiling. Then, the fun starts!
You'll set off into the Arctic wilderness on a 15 km (9 miles) journey, in the company of your guide, towards a scenic ice fishing location. (If you've chosen the snowmobile sled passenger option, you'll be seated on warm reindeer pelts for the duration of the trip.) Upon your arrival, you'll help your guide drill a hole in the ice. Then, they will go over the traditional hook-and-line method of fishing. Now its time to cast your line and try your luck at catching Arctic char, trout, or whitefish that are common in this area. As you fish, you'll enjoy the tranquillity of nature while seated on reindeer pelts. In addition, you'll be treated to hot drinks and pastries. At the end of the tour, you'll return to the original departure point in Kilpisjärvi with a newfound love of ice fishing!

* If you are arriving to the meeting point from Norway, please be advised that there is a one-hour difference. Therefore, you will need to begin one hour in advance, as Norway and Finland have one-hour time difference.

Activity requirements
Please be advised that a minimum of 4 participants is required in order to run this activity.
In addition, children under 135 cm (4'4") are seated on a sleigh pulled by the guide's snowmobile. However, children taller than 135 cm (4'4") can sit on a snowmobile as a passenger.
