Discover the winter wonderland of Kilpisjärvi via snowmobile on this 4-hour, guided safari in Enontekiö. All levels of experience are welcome!
Situated in northwestern Finland (Finnish Lapland), Kilpisjärvi is located between the borders of Norway and Sweden in the Enontekiö municipality. This region is known for its remote wilderness and stunning natural surroundings, which include fells, lakes, and the Arctic tundra. The perfect spot for a fun-filled snowmobile excursion!
Your adventure begins after being picked up from one of the listed meeting points in Kilpisjärvi (please specify when booking). Upon arrival at the Kilpissafarit base, you and your group (a maximum of 30 participants) will be outfitted in winter gear which includes thermal overalls, boots, wool socks, mittens, and a balaclava. Then, your experienced instructor will provide a safety briefing along with an introduction to snowmobiling. Once everyone feels comfortable, you'll put on your helmets and set out into the snow-covered landscapes of Finnish Lapland at high speeds!
The tour's first stop will be at the border cairn of Finland, Sweden, and Norway, known as the most "peaceful border in the world". This is an amazing photo opportunity and your guide is happy to snap some shots to capture the moment! Your journey continues to some of the best spots in Kilpisjärvi, through the tundra and near the majestic fells. In addition, you'll be treated to hot drinks and pastries, a great way to warm up in the chilly Arctic climate! You'll return to the original departure point in Kilpisjärvi with memories that will last a lifetime, and, perhaps, a newfound love of snowmobiling!

* If you are arriving to the meeting point from Norway, please be advised that there is a one-hour difference. Therefore, you will need to begin one hour in advance, as Norway and Finland have one-hour time difference.
Course of events
- Please arrive at the meeting point in Kilpisjärvi 15 minutes before the departure time
- Transfer
- Arrival at the Kilpissafarit base
- Meet your experienced guide
- Put on your winter gear (thermal overalls, boots, wool socks, balaclava, mittens, and helmet)
- Safety briefing and introduction to snowmobiling
- The adventure begins!
- 40-50 km (25-31 mile) snowmobile tour
- Hot drink and pastry break
- The adventure continues!
- Return to the original departure point in Kilpisjärvi
Activity requirements
Please be advised that a minimum of 4 participants is required in order to run this activity.
In addition, children under 135 cm (4'4") are seated on a sleigh pulled by the guide's snowmobile. However, children taller than 135 cm (4'4") can sit on a snowmobile as a passenger.
