Santorini is a picturesque Greek island located in the Cyclades archipelago of the Aegean Sea. Akrotiri is a historic village located along the southern coast of Santorini, known for its natural beauty, access to the caldera, and historical significance. Santorini is also famous for its mesmerising sunsets!
For this sea kayaking excursion, you can choose to meet directly at the starting point on Akrotiri Beach, or be picked up from your accommodation in Santorini. You’ll meet the experienced guide and receive your kayaking equipment. Previous kayaking experience is not necessary, the guide will go through paddling instructions before you set off. Once everyone is prepared, you’ll begin paddling from Akrotiri along the southern coast of Santorini.
The coastline near Akrotiri boasts several beautiful beaches with black sand and clear waters. As you paddle, you’ll pass some of these famous beaches, including Red Beach, Kambia Beach and White Beach. From your position in the water, you’ll have excellent views of the unique beach landscapes and majestic rock formations. Along the way, you’ll stop for a break and swim in the refreshing waters. A delicious picnic of local delicacies, snacks, and fresh fruits will be served.
The guide will also provide snorkelling equipment, so you can explore the fascinating underwater landscape of Santorini and maybe encounter some vibrant marine life! As you continue the kayaking journey, the sun will slowly dip below the horizon, casting a stunning red and pink glow across the clear sky. When you return to the starting point in Akrotiri, the guide will then drop you back to your accommodation on the island.
