Spend a day rafting in Europe's deepest canyon on the Tara River, a UNESCO World Heritage site. With its turquoise waters, stunning cliffs, beautiful waterfalls, caves, and over 50 white water rapids, this all-inclusive excursion has it all!
Located in Durmitor National Park, the largest, protected natural area in Montenegro, the impressive Tara Canyon (also known as the Tara River Gorge) is part of the Dinaric Alps and measures 82 km (51 miles). The Tara River cuts through the mountain and is the ideal place for rafting.
To begin this day-long (or half-day) adventure, you'll be picked up from your accommodations or meet at the Durmitor Adventure Office. Once you've been shuttled to the departure point, you'll receive a safety briefing, gear up, and set out for a fun-filled day on the water! You and your group will enjoy 2 breaks, on the Ljutica River (Europe's largest freshwater stream) and will swim or cliff jump at one of Tara River's best spots.
After spending the day navigating the rapids, you'll be treated to a delicious lunch with a choice between meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan options, as well as soup, salad, and a drink. But that's not all! You finish the experience with a Jeep Safari, heading out of Tara Canyon towards Curevac. There, you'll savour breathtaking views before heading back to Zabljak.
