Activity requirements
This is a non-technical, but challenging excursion, so being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity. You must be able to walk over 9 to 11 kilometres with 700 to 800 metres of elevation, a steady ascent and some steeper sections.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

They'll distribute crampons and headlamps if necessary, and after a thorough safety briefing, you'll set off!
The hike will start as you walk through a rugged moraine valley, then start the ascent toward the Larsbreen glacier. You'll cross the glacier and climb up a narrow ridge to reach the "Troll Stone", which gives the mountain its name. You'll enjoy some tea and biscuits with your instructor, as they tell you about local glaciers, geology, and life in Svalbard. If you'd like to bring some more substantial food to regain your strength, you're welcome to do so. You'll then make your way back down the mountain and toward the starting point of the experience with stunning memories (and photos) of Svalbard's breathtaking Arctic landscapes.
Keep in mind that the temperatures in the Arctic can vary between 5 and -30 degrees Celsius, and this activity does not include winter outerwear. This is why you should come prepared with a thermal or wool underlayer, fleece or wool mid layers, and windproof and waterproof outerwear (jacket and pants). You should also bring winter boots with a good grip, insulated gloves, a scarf, and sunglasses to protect against the sunlight's reflection on the snow, as well as any other essentials you may need (such as medication or extra snacks) to spend around 6 hours on this hiking excursion from Longyearbyen.
