Hvar, perched on the sun-drenched Dalmatian coast of Croatia, is a destination where the Adriatic’s turquoise waters meet centuries of maritime tradition and vibrant outdoor adventure. Practising Flyboard or Hoverboard here is more than a watersport—it is an invitation to experience the island’s luminous seascape from an entirely new perspective. With the medieval spires of Hvar Town rising above terracotta roofs, the scent of pine and wild herbs drifting on the breeze, and the distant outlines of the Pakleni Islands shimmering on the horizon, this is a setting that inspires both awe and exhilaration. The interplay of sunlight on the water, the gentle hum of boats in the harbour, and the lively energy of the island’s outdoor culture create an atmosphere that is both invigorating and welcoming.

Taking to the water for a Flyboard or Hoverboard session in Hvar is a dynamic and sensory-rich adventure. After a brief introduction on the pebbled shoreline, you’ll glide out onto the glassy surface of the Adriatic, where the water’s clarity reveals shifting patterns of light and shadow beneath your feet. Once the jets engage, you’ll feel the immediate lift—cool spray on your skin, the rush of air, and the unique sensation of rising above the sea, suspended between sky and water. Sessions typically last around 20 to 30 minutes, allowing time to master balance, attempt gentle turns, or even try a few spins under the guidance of your instructor. The contrast between the tranquil blue expanse and the pulse of adrenaline as you soar or dive back into the sea is unforgettable, with each movement offering a new perspective on Hvar’s coastline and the rugged slopes of the island’s interior.

Local guides in Hvar are passionate professionals, deeply familiar with both the technical aspects of hydroflight and the nuances of the local marine environment. All equipment, including Flyboard or Hoverboard gear, wetsuits, and safety vests, is provided and meticulously maintained. Before each session, instructors deliver clear, personalised briefings, ensuring that every participant understands the controls and safety procedures. The emphasis on safety is matched by a genuine enthusiasm for sharing the thrill of flight, reflecting the island’s strong tradition of outdoor sports and hospitality. Logistics are straightforward, with meeting points typically located near Hvar Town’s main harbour, making the activity easily accessible whether you are staying in the old town, Stari Grad, or nearby villages.

The best time to experience Flyboard or Hoverboard in Hvar is from late spring to early autumn, when the sea is warm and the weather reliably sunny. The activity is suitable for beginners, with no prior experience required, though a reasonable level of physical fitness is important for balance and control. Sessions are open to adults and older teenagers, making this an ideal choice for adventurous travellers, groups of friends, or families with older children seeking a unique way to enjoy the Adriatic. The calm, sheltered bays around Hvar provide an ideal learning environment, while more experienced participants can challenge themselves with advanced manoeuvres under expert supervision.

Great day out exploring the Pakleni Islands, the kayak across from Hvar to the islands seems daunting at first but was really not too bad once you get into the swing of things. The guys were great and told us where to go and how long each paddle would take, what would be hard or easy and some general tips on how to use the kayak. Really recommend this for anyone with a decent sense of adventure.

We had an afternoon slot of sea kayaking around Hvar which included some time to swim in the open water, snorkel around a bay and dinner in a little island restaurant. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a chance to explore the islands and have fun doing it!

We loved this! You are free to go on your own space and where you like. We got good instructions for where to go. The islands are beautiful and the kayking is a fun activity. We are not experienced kayakers at all, but it went really well, not too hard!
