Canyon La Clue de Saint Auban down the Estéron river, France

Please allow a total of 4 hours for this activity.

• Arrival at the meeting point.
• Meet your guide and collect your kit.
• Walk to the starting point of the La Clue Gorge, followed by the start of the canyoning excursion.
• Return to the meeting point via the return path.
• Return of equipment.
• End of activity.

You must be able to swim at least 50 metres and be able to submerge yourself in the water to take part in this activity.

It is best to have some previous experience of canyoning or to be physically fit.

3-metre jumps are compulsory to ensure the activity runs smoothly. Other jumps can be avoided by abseiling or going round the obstacle.

This activity is not recommended for people who suffer from vertigo or have problems with their knees or ankles.

How to get to Saint-Auban: From Castellane, head towards Grasse via the RN85. Continue for about 10 km, then turn left onto the D452 towards La Batie / Peyroules. Drive past the village of Peyroules for about 2 km, then at the junction with the D2211, turn left towards La Foux Saint-Auban. On entering Saint-Auban, cross the River Estéron and continue along the D2211 for 1 km. Your guide, Mickaël, will be waiting for you at the meeting point, in the car park on the right just before the ‘Clue du Saint-Auban’.
