Canyoning in Gours du Ray canyon in the Verdon

• Welcome & meeting point near Gréolières

Meet your instructor 10 minutes before the selected time at the designated roadside meeting spot near Gréolières. After introductions and gear fitting, you'll walk a few minutes to the canyon entrance.

• Short approach to the canyon

A 10-minute trail through the Verdon Valley forest leads you into the heart of Gours du Ray, a hidden canyon surrounded by lush greenery.

• Start of the descent

The experience begins with an easy 4-metre rappel, perfect to get used to the rope and techniques under the instructor’s guidance.

• Fun and varied canyoning progression. The route unfolds gradually with a series of exciting but accessible obstacles:
  • Optional jumps ranging from 2 to 10 metres into deep, clear pools
  • Natural rock slides shaped by water flow
  • Additional rappels of increasing height, all done in complete safety
• Midway highlights

About halfway through, you'll reach a natural pool perfect for relaxing or testing the highest jumps. A playful passage under a waterfall adds an extra touch of fun for those who prefer not to jump.

• Final section

The canyon finishes with a spectacular slide-rappel of around 10 metres into a turquoise basin, a refreshing and scenic end to your descent.

• Return walk & end of activity

After removing your gear and packing it up, a short forest walk brings you back to the starting point. Expect the full experience to take about 4 hours in total, including preparation and return.

All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.

Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity.
