Visit Tempelfjord by snowmobile and retrace the steps of the legendary trapper, Hilmas Nøis!

This journey takes you through vast valleys, tall mountains, and frozen rivers to the legendary destination of Tempelfjord. It is here that the trapper Hilmas Nøis spent over 30 Arctic Winters. Set against the dramatic mountain Templet, his cabin still lies as a popular visiting ground to this day.

Part of your snowmobile excursion will take place along the coastline, where you may even observe some seals! You will stop midway to enjoy a hot lunch in one of Svalbard's wildest and most gob stopping areas. If the conditions allow, your guide may also take you to the lavvu in the Brattlidalen valley for a sheltered break and hot drink.

This day-long excursion will allow you to visit some of Svalbard's most bare and beautiful nature. Drivers must have their driver's license, but children over 12 are more than welcome on the passenger seat. Before leaving, you will go to Svalbard Adventure base to be dressed in warm overalls, boots, gloves, and all the necessary safety equipment to keep you as safe as you are cosy. Join the adventure!

Jon O was our team lead for this activity and he was amazing. From getting us the right gear for the freezing temperatures to guiding us on the use of snowmobiles, he was absolutely on the mark. We got some really good weather, read, clear and sunny day, which also meant lower temperatures but it's truly been an experience of a lifetime. The teepee lunch and the conversations were amazing.
